Powder rooms were the places where people could powder their wigs. Like powder carrots, they were firstly invented for wealthy people who had larger houses. In a powder room, curtains, a chair, a mirror, a washstand and a wig support were all necessary items, which helped wearers more comfortable and leisurely while their wigs were powdered. In some powder rooms, there were also water closets, which was indeed well equipped.
