Step 1: Soaking

Soak your wig in warm water. Remove the excess water with your hands and get ready to apply shampoo on it.

Step 2:Wash your wig with shampoo
A mild shampoo specifically for real hair wigs is recommended. Place a small amount of shampoo into your hands and cleanse the hair of the wig from the roots to the ends. Use a gentle shampoo that is free of sulfates and harsh chemicals. Knead gently so that the shampoo is evenly distributed on the wig. After a few minutes, rinse off the shampoo with clean water.

Step 3: Apply conditioner
You need to use a hydrating conditioner that is free of sulfates and harsh chemicals after cleaning your wig. Starting from the end, apply lightly on the wig. Gently comb through the strands with your fingers, keeping the conditioner away from the root of the wig. Rinse the wig with cold water from the top of the wig to the ends of the hair strands, please make sure you remove all the conditioner to avoid build-up and a waxy finish.

Step 4: Dry and style
After washing and conditioning the wig, it’s time for drying. Using a towel to gently blot the excess moisture out of the wig and hang it on a wig holder or a human head model to dry. Remember not to use a blow dryer and brush the hair until the wig is almost completely dry. Once you have completed washing and maintenance steps, you can style your wig with a blow dryer and round brush as usual.
