If You Are Curious About The Giant Ball

Do you often see the giant balloons in pictures? Do you know anything about these balloons? If you don't, today we are here to introduce you to them. Known as zorb balls, these spheres are used to carry people down a slope and give each participant a sense of weightlessness and excitement.

How long do they last?

We use a total of ten zorb balls at a time at our Rotorua venue. This includes our H2OGO balls and our specially designed drygo balls. After about a year, UV light and general wear and tear will cause the zorb balls to become cloudy and yellow in appearance. Although they are perfectly fine to handle, we prefer them to look nice and shiny We also keep a few in storage for off-site events (e.g. school parties and trade fairs). The old zorb balls have a second life and are recycled as soft rubber mats for children's playgrounds.

What are they made of

A zorb ball takes a total of 84 hours to make. Every step of the zorb ball manufacturing process is done entirely by hand. the zorb balls are made from a variety of plastics and materials. Most of them are sourced here in New Zealand. A total of 100,000,00mm2 of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is used for the inner and outer skins. In total these plastics are sufficient to cover 25 tennis tables. The plastic is 1mm thick, but it is strong enough to support a small elephant. A total of 1082 extruded anchors were high-frequency welded to the inner and outer skins of TPU and PVC. Once the anchors have been attached to the inner and outer skin they are tied together with hand cut and dyed rainbow coloured nylon rope.

What if I don't want to get wet?

This is another crazy invention from the zorb team. drygo is specifically designed to simulate a wet ride on a straight or side track. You won't go upside down and you won't get dizzy! Drygo is a small ZORB ball placed inside the zorb with water in the middle. zorb is the only rollerball company to offer this dry ride to its visitors. Epic fun, we guarantee it.
