The object of the game is to kick the zorb ball into the net; this will result in the most goals and therefore the most points. The goal for individual teams is to score when the ball crosses the cross line, under the cross bar, without any violation of the rules and regulations of the game. The winner is the team that scores the most goals.

Players
A game is played between two teams. There is no exact limit to the number of players in a team. Ideally, each team can have 5 players, but no fewer than 4. Each team is allowed to have an unlimited number of substitutes.

Basically, all teams and players are treated equally. There is no designated goalkeeper. There is a raised area in front of the goal through which active players may pass but are not allowed to stay for more than 3 seconds.
Match times
There is no fixed duration of play. It can last for two equal halves of 15 minutes each or for four 10-minute quarters (i.e. mutual agreement between playing teams and supervisors). Going out of bounds does not result in a loss of time. The referee has the power to stop the clock in the event of timeouts and medical emergencies. A maximum of 2-3 time-outs are allowed per team.

Pitches and boundaries
There are many different styles of playing foam football to choose from. It can be played with a large or small ball, on an outdoor football pitch or in a stadium. The area of the pitch is marked by the boundary lines. The ball remains 'active' unless it goes out of bounds, near any obstacle that poses a hazard to the safety of spectators or players.
