The summer holidays are coming to an end, so maybe you've been to the amusement park a few times already? Amusement parks are really fun, especially for students like me. I love thrill rides, so I've been on all the traditional ones like roller coasters, jumpers and jumbo hammers, but this summer I got to experience a new game at the park, zorbing, but I bet you didn't expect my encounter with it to be so amazing. Let me tell you about it. The human hamster ball, known as a zorb ball, is a double-layered giant plastic ball. It has a diameter of 2.5 metres. Of course you can also customise it to be a little larger, for example 3 metres in diameter. It can hold 1-3 people at a time.

As for zorbing, it's a process where you get inside the zorb ball and tumble down a slope with it. You can choose your own type of slope, for example the one in the picture is a grassy area, but naturally you can also choose snow. In the case of the traditional 3m high zorb ball, there are three different ways to play it. Firstly, you can be pinned in the zorb ball and roll down with it. Secondly, you can pour some water into the inner ball of the zorb ball, a type of zorbing known as hydro zorbing, or you can move completely freely around the zorb ball, for example by running around the giant sphere, as mentioned above.

How did I start zorbing?

I didn't know anything about it before, probably because zorbing was so new and required a lot of space. However, I once got really tired of playing in the playground, but I was still a long way from the exit end and I was genuinely too lazy to walk. Then I saw a giant zorb ball that was taking people on a tumble down a metal track. So I thought it would be a good vehicle for me. So, I bought a ticket to enter the zorb ball.
