Zorbing entails human beings stepping into a plastic ball, a form of human hamster wheel, and propelling it ahead with the aid of using strolling or walking. Seem strange? It’s certainly a lot of fun, and the recognition has persisted to develop during the last few years.
In addition to an interesting name, zorb ball also has an interesting history.
Who invented this crazy idea? Well, in the 1970s, the first hamster balls were made and sold. These are small balls made of plastic that are specially designed for pet hamsters and can adapt and roll. In the early 1980s, a group of extreme sports pioneers called the Dangerous Sports Club took the idea of hamster balls a big step forward. They built a huge ball 23 feet in diameter (75 feet) that supported two recliners. Two people can fit and the ball spins. However, the device did not become popular and eventually was scrapped. Most of the materials used to make the giant ball are scrapped. Plastic packaging is even used to cover compost heaps.
However, in New Zealand, friends Dwane van der Sluis and Andrew Akers later invented a plastic ball that humans can stand on, just like a hamster ball. The two called this invention zorb.
The idea is to roll down a gentle slope inside the ball and maintain balance as the speed of the ball increases. The Zorb ball has also adapted to the water. If sealed properly, people can "water walk" inside the zorb ball. It is especially popular in the UK. The feature of zorb ball is that one ball is inside another ball, and there is a layer of compressed air between them to absorb the impact experienced by running the zorb ball on land. Zorb has now evolved into an obstacle course game, such as the obstacle course game provided by Kameymall.
